This is one cute little fella. Toby is a medium weight Border Collie mix (English Shepherd). He had a rough start in his prior rescue situation. Here's what Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue has to say about him:
"Toby has come a long way in the few months we have had him here. He is much better socialised, though will alarm bark and does need a confidant handler.
Toby is sweet and affectionate, is smart and learns quickly, does will with other dogs and cats. He will do best in a home were confident leadership is the norm, and the other dogs in the home are calm and quiet.
Toby is crate trained and housebroken. He is responding to some commands, though needs work on leash walking (we practice daily!) *** Toby is one undersocialised little guy. Adopted from a 'rescue' where he and his sibling were stored in a closet, Toby's adoptive family soon realised that Toby was more than they could handle and brought him to us.
In the 3 weeks we have had Toby, he has gone from terrified to my best friend and has greeted strangers appropriatly. While he could be adopted now, he would need to go to someo ne who understood that Toby need to continue to learn about the world in a positive and non-threatening way.
Toby will do best in a quiet, confident home where training and socialisation is important. He will need continued training and socialisation to become the great dog he is destined to be.
While Toby was raised with children he adored, we feel it best that he not go to a home with young children as acclimisation would be difficult and those young children have friends making it doubly difficult.
Toby is crate trained and house broken, walks well on leash, is great with other dogs and cats.
Please read our procedures prior to making inquiry regarding this dog.
